A year ago, I was waking up at 4am and heading out for long, ten mile runs.
It’s crazy how a year later, things can be so different.
Although I would give anything to run right now, I am thankful for what I have.
Instead of sitting and pouting on the couch, I have been trying to stay active!
Now that my cast is off, the water workouts can begin.
I fueled up for my early morning workout with a power breakfast.

Now back to the workout…
After a bunch of web research, I found the AquaJogger.
I am serious about running again, dead serious.
So, I ordered the Runners rehab package.

This rehabilitation tool, allows you to stay upright in the deep end of the pool, to simulate running.
I tried it on Sunday in our shallow pool and was very excited to find a deeper pool.
So, yesterday I traveled to Anya’s house at 8am and hit the water for a serious workout.

The AquaJogger also comes with a 5 foot bungee to keep you tethered to a fixed spot, which I loved.
I found a bunch of pool workouts and decided to try this one first.

        Pool Running Workout #1

  • Warm up: 10 minute easy pool jog
  • 1 minute hard, 1 minute easy
  • 2 minutes hard, 2 minutes easy
  • 3 minutes hard, 3 minute easy
  • 4 minutes hard, 4 minutes easy
  • 5 minutes hard
  • Cool down: 10 minute easy pool jog

I also downloaded the app GYMBOSS Interval Timer for free (awesome) on my iPhone.
This app allows you to create your own cool interval timers for whatever workout combination you want.
It was super easy to use and worked like a charm!
I highly suggest it.

The workout rocked.
My foot didn’t hurt and I got my heart rate up.
Best of all…
I got to feel like I was running!  #bestfeelingever
I am sore, but I love it.

After pool running, Karen picked me up and we headed for mani/pedi’s.
I hadn’t gotten one since my surgery, so it was a real treat!
I combined a new OPI sparkle color over a killer dark purple Essie polish.

Today is WIAW.
So, this is what lunch looked like…
I’m crazy obsessed with this Italian Cabbage Soup.

Then, i got to work creating something fabulous in the kitchen.
It’s a secret though for now…I promise to reveal it soon.

I cracked open a smuggled in avocado for a snack and made dinner.
An Amy’s black bean burger with sautéed mushrooms and shallots and cheddar.
Oh…and 2 glasses of Matua Sauvignon Blanc too.
My already achy muscles needed it!

While blogging, I snacked on one of these too.
Still can’t believe there is no sugar in them!

Ended the night cuddled up next to my husband laughing the night away.
Did you watch Betty White’s birthday’s celebration?
It was hilarious!!!!

  2. My go to snack is fruit and peanut butter or Chobani and apple. I loved the banana, I had been very skeptical that it would taste fake. I hate fake banana flavoring. Chobani did not disappoint!

    • I love the AJ. LOL A smuggled avocado is one smuggled in from the US. We don’t have them here….I know, crazy. That’s why I smuggle them in.. lol :-)
