Blogger Meet Up – Buzo Osteria Italiana

DSC_1274

It’s no secret to y’all that Buzo is my favorite restaurant in Trinidad.
I love the food, the atmosphere, the staff & most of all Chef Cristian.
How can you not love a guy who is bringing awareness about International Women’s Day?!
He’s amazing…but back to Buzo.
It’s the go-to place when recommending somewhere to eat to visitors.
It’s also the one restaurant we take all of our guests too.
We have celebrated countless birthdays and anniversaries there as well.
So, when Cristian called and said he wanted to host our next blogger meet up…
I was thrilled!

Wednesday, we got together to eat, drink and enjoy a 5 hour long lunch.
I think I’m still full.

Chef brought us out a glass of delicious Cabernet & Sangiovese blend from Banfi to start.
Soon after, we were presented with the Focaccia al Rosamarino.

DSC_1180

I’ve never seen this menu item before, because we always just eat the complimentary bread on the table.
It is on the pizza menu and it worth ordering.
It was excellent – hot and crispy but soft at the same time.

Next up, was the Polenta Fritta con Fonduta al Quattro Formaggi.
Um…I’ll have 4 more please!
The polenta cake was cooked perfectly & the pool of cheesy deliciousness it was swimming in was amazing.

After the polenta, came the Focaccine Farcite.
~ Mushroom, Truffle & Arugula
~ Sausage & Artichoke
~ Prosciutto Crudo
~ Zucchini & Goat Cheese

I think you can tell by the photos, they were ALL delicious.

Sarina had mentioned that this was her first time at Buzo, shocking, I know.

So, I asked Francis, our amazing server, if he could send out one of the BEST things on the menu…
Portabella Fries

DSC_1214

She LOVED them, I knew she would…everybody loves them.
Next time you are at Buzo, order some…you can thank me later!

Getting full yet?
The next item we tasted was the Lobster Ravioli.
Honestly, it was not my favorite.
It was not the usual homemade Buzo light-as-air pasta.
It was heavy and just kinda blah…

The Fragole was next , aka Strawberry Salad.
I love this salad – arugula tossed with big chucks of Parmesan, ripe strawberries and topped with crunchy onions.
It’s light and refreshing and a great starter to order before dinner.

As the salad was served, Francis came around and poured us some prosecco.
Bubbles?
Now you’re speaking my language…

The Prosecco Risotto with Shrimp was served along side a mini portion of the Frito Misto.
This was the cutest presentation of all and I’m sorry to say…I didn’t take a picture.
The Frito Misto was in a brown paper bag and the risotto and shrimp were placed in a baby mason jar.
Home Run
Here is what it looked like when I dumped the bag out onto the plate…

We finished the meal with not one, but 2 desserts.
Needless to say, in order to eat either, I was going to need a lot more insulin to enjoy them!
I’m such a good diabetic…
Smile
I also tested a couple of the blogger’s blood sugar during the event.

As always, Buzo was incredible.
I still cannot believe there are people in Trinidad who have not been to Buzo.
If you are reading this and you are one of those people, stop waiting and go.
No one ever leaves there disappointed…ever!

A HUGE thank you to Chef Cristian for hosting our fabulous Blogger Meet Up.
