Yesterday started with this amazing breakfast – Green Eggs.
Baby Barnaby’s in Houston makes this fantastic dish.
Egg whites scrambled with spinach, artichoke hearts and jack cheese…
Served with chicken apple sausage, hash browns and toast.
It’s one of the best breakfast’s in H Town!
Why was I so insanely hungry?
I had to fast in the AM for blood work.
Nothing major…
Just a check on my organs since the whole almost-dying thing in August.
So, by 10 am, I was ready to chew my arm off.
I indulged in this yummy hot chocolate too.
Trust me…it was worth every drop of insulin I had to take to enjoy it too!

After breakfast, I returned my scooter, in hopes of never having to use it again.

At 2:45, we arrived at my foot doctor appointment.
I had to wait an hour to see him because he was backed up.
That was one of the longest hours of my life.
Finally, after an X-ray, I got the news.I was OK’d to start walking.
I do have an arch support and a carbon foot plate insert in my shoe.
Is there pain?
Yes.
That’s OK though…the fusion is working.
Walking out of that office was one of the best feelings in the world.
Words cannot describe how happy I am right now…
But, I’m also faced with the road ahead.
It will be two painful months of trying to walk again.
Two months of physical therapy, pool workouts and bouts of frustration.
But, I know I can do this, I will do this.
Until then…
I’ll keep dreaming about that day when I run again.
What made you happy as a clam this week?

Awe…thanks Julie! Nice to see you on the blog…how are you?
How’s Mommy life?
I am so freaking happy you’re on two feet again! I understand better than most how you feel and the frustration is 110% normal.
What made me happy this week? I know how I hated hearing about running when I was injured but I’m going to tell you about my weekend as a way to think positively. Last April, I was in a boot. Yesterday I ran about the fastest 8 miles I’ve ever run with no pain. I averaged a 10:05 pace on hills. When I got injured I was barely running 11s, so healing & coming back stronger than when you got hurt is totally possible.
