I love it when I check out a new restaurant in Trinidad and it surprises me.
That was the case when dining at the Hilltop Restaurant last week for lunch.
TriniChow suggested we try out the newly-renovated,student-run restaurant.
As we headed to the Trinidad & Tobago Hospitality & Tourism Institute out in Chaguaramas…
I didn’t know what to expect.
As we entered thru the double doors, I was impressed.
The color combo of pale green walls & bright purple table cloths & bamboo decorating the room was pretty.
I loved the modern chairs and cool overhead lights.
Now, I was excited.
If the food was as delicious as the atmosphere was cool, then we were in for a fabulous lunch!
TriniChow started with a mocktail – there were a ton to choose from, each one created by a student.
I had a glass of wine, shocker.
Lunch involves a 5 course menu for $150TT.
What a deal!
Here’s what I ate…
Kalamata & Feta Cigars w/rosemary hummus
Pumpkin & Spinach Soup
I’m not a fan of pumpkin…
BUT, I really liked this soup.
Cucumber “Spaghetti” Salad w/frozen olive oil (very cool)
The choices for an entree included 3 things I didn’t eat.
So, I asked the kitchen to create me a veggie plate.
The result was delicious – my favorite was the baby potatoes.
Delicious Poached Pear w/Red Wine Ice Cream on a Soft Ginger Cookie
The fantastic team that created our lunch!
Tressa Edwards, Brigette R Joseph, Jaffar Ali, Seaƞ Bryce, Ravi Adesh Benny, King Kwame, Shelly-Ann Chantal Baksh, Trevica Khadijah John, Adriana Edwards and Michael Diaz.
Head to Hilltop for a Great Dining Experience!
