Before I begin my (very late) Marathon Monday post (yes, I know I’m like 3 days late..I’m still on my epic family vacation…gimme a break) I just have to say that I actually squealed when I got my year-end email from DailyMile.com. Just in case you don’t know about this site – DailyMile is a place that has the most amazing support system ever and I’ve been logging my miles since I started running 6+ years ago. Anywho, if you would’ve told the pre-running Corey that future Corey would log over 1,000 miles in one year, I would’ve said “You’re Nuts”. So when I got the email, I was more than proud of myself, I felt like a rockstar. I remember thinking one thousand miles in 1 year seemed crazy, impossible even. But it isn’t, I did it and if I can do it with my bad foot and my T1D then anyone can do it! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Thursday – 6 miles. 8 actual. Had to stop for bathroom breaks every 3 miles an for water as it was 80F and hot. Tried keeping my HR down but once I hit 8 miles I was shot… Legs feeling good..I stretched after and spent the rest of the day swimming in the pool!
