HOT. We’re having quite the heat wave here but I’m not complaining. Just having to adjust my ultra training a bit to accommodate my blood sugars and body temperature. When I get hot or am in the sun, my blood sugars fall much faster, so I have to be careful. Enjoying the sun and overall it was a great training week. I prob. shouldn’t have water-skied for the 1st time all season the day before my three 5 mile run day. #oops I woke up barely able to move, it felt like my whole back had been ripped to shreds. Feeling much better now though and ready to conquer this week.
It might have something to do with it being my birthday week as well…the big day is tomorrow!!! #38hereIcome
Monday: 5 miles AM & 5 miles PM. Monday’s are always a bit hard for me to get going but I managed to knock out both runs with minimal issues. Run powered by Ella’s Kitchen applesauce…
Tuesday: 4 miles AM & yoga PM. Felt good, run was fine and yoga via the Asana Rebel Yoga app (free).
Wednesday: 5 miles AM & 5 miles PM. Both runs went great, a bit hot and my left hamstring is tight but I got it done.
Friday: 5 miles x 3 – goal. Actual was 5 AM miles – ICE BATH – 5 afternoon miles – ICE BATH – and was so flipping exhausted (temp in london was close to 87F) I could only get another 2 miles out of my legs. Ended up going to bed at 7:30pm and didn’t wake up until 8am. Guess I needed my sleep…
Saturday: 5 miles and REST. I waited until it cooled down a bit and felt great until my bs crashed and was forced to sit out for about 10 min and then finished strong. In other words, I got it done. So grateful for my SKINS RY400 recovery tights…they are magic for my sore legs.
